In 2013, the path of Uata?! Began – the hamburger shop which was born in Belém do Pará, Brazil, when there was only a trolley that stopped in front of the university. It has grown a lot since and today it has nine shops, also counting the two that you can find in Portugal, one in Coimbra and another in Porto. What you can find here are hamburgers with flavour coming from the other side of the Atlantic, always with a special seasoning. The offer is varied: you can choose beef, pork, chicken or vegetarian hamburgers, different types of cheese, crispy onions, among others, which you can accompany with cheese sticks or with your ‘uatatas’, chips – you can also choose sweet potatoes.

The flavors of Hawaii are in Porto. FixeBowl is specialized in the “poke bowl”, a dish that has Hawaiian origin and Japanese inspiration, with raw fish, sushi rice, seeds and vegetables in the mix. In a typical Hawaiian environment, all that is missing is the smell of the beach. Among the “poke bowls” there is a choice between eight combinations, created by Pauline and Amanda, the owners, with oriental, Brazilian and Australian influences. The Tropical bowl is the most popular choice, made with a sushi rice base, with salmon, ginger, cucumber, carrot, red onion, leek, mango, tobiko (flying fish eggs) and sesame sauce. You can always make your own “poke”.

The restaurant Peza Arroz was born in 1944, still under the name Casa de Melgaço, and owes its name to the nickname of the owner’s great-grandfather. It is rustic and welcoming, located in the riverside area of Porto, and it serves good homemade dishes of traditional Portuguese cuisine. It is a great place to rest and regain energy, and then continue visiting the riverside area. The pleasant space outside overlooking the Douro River and the not less friendly staff of the space stand out, and you can enjoy some “Tripas à moda do Porto” (the most representative dish of Porto that dates back to the time of the Portuguese Discoveries is cooked with tripe and fat meat, accompanied with thick slices of dark bread; today instead of bread white beans are used), or a Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish), or “bacalhau à marinheiro” (codfish fillets, soaked in seafood broth, roasted in the oven with clams, shrimps, peppers and onions), or grilled beefsteak on the dish, among others, while enjoying one of the most emblematic views of Porto and Gaia, savoured with a glass of wine.
