The business arose from the experience accumulated since 1987, with the establishment of the Amigos do Doce, a company that stands out for the quality and diversity of its products. They seek to ensure a technological and commercial leadership arising from the ability to meet the needs and expectations of their customers and consumers. The products that stand out are personalised birthday cakes, both for children and adults, semi-colds, ice creams, miniature sweet and savoury cakes, seasonal cakes such as ‘bolo-rei’ (a festive cake in the shape of a crown, which is part of the Portuguese tradition, and which is typically eaten at Christmas and on the Day of Kings; round in shape, with a large hole in the centre, it is made of a white, fluffy mass mixed with dried grapes, dried fruit and crystallised fruit; its name alludes to the three Wise Men), ‘pão-de-ló’ (similar to sponge cake), ‘pão-de-ló de Ovar’ and conventual sweets. Amigos do Doce is proud of the freshness of its products, with cakes produced every day, and of the love and affection they devote to their confection.

It has been on the market since 2006, selling products and training for the artistic decoration of cakes. They are proud to have been building a relationship of trust with the demand, through a network of shops in Portugal and also by selling in the online shop to the whole world. They sell from coloured sugar pastes to transport boxes. They are also in the field of education and they are the first Professional School of Artistic Cake Decoration in Portugal and a reference in the Iberian market. They have a team of trainers accredited by the best cake decorating schools at international level, as well as certified as professional trainers, able to teach courses and workshops.

Cafezeira is an establishment of many years, initially focused on coffee and spices, having introduced new products tailored to the demands and needs of its customers. Coffee is still the protagonist, from several origins, lots of pure coffee, blends of coffee with barley, just to mention a few, ground to the customer’s machine, various teas, seeds, dried fruits – honey-dropped figs, from the Douro, Turkish, dried pears, walnuts in shell and shelled, hazelnuts, grapes, plum corinthians with and without stone, dates, apricot, pine nuts – dried fruits and spices. They also sell avulsed and with environmental concern, which means that the customers can bring their containers.
