Sanitária is born in Porto in 1900 to meet the emerging need for hygiene habits, a year after the plague that struck the city. Becomes a pioneer in Portugal, revolutionizes the concept of bathing. Following the same principle, Sanitary now offers differentiation and exclusivity, allowing each client to feel their project as unique. In this sense, it offers creative, functional and tailor-made solutions for toilets, kitchens, coatings, shields, heating, furniture, among others, working with brands that combine quality with design, such as the house’s own brand.

From necessity the dream was born. In a context of unemployment and a difficult labour market, the owner decided to take a risk in a project of her own and this is how A Lojinha was born, in 2013. It is a textile shop, with three segments: the underwear segment, with pyjamas, bras, underwear, among others; the household linen segment, such as duvets, sheets, towels, just to mention a few; and the baby linen segment, with a wide variety of offers. In addition, it has laundry, dyeing and ironing services, and it is a Payshop and Pagaqui agent. The shop tries to stand out by offering both small hard-to-find items and care and personalised service.

This is the first frame workshop in the city. It was founded in 1858 by two brothers, António and José dos Santos and the business is still in the family. The art of gilding and silvering with gold or silver leaf is an endangered art, but not here, where we value this craft, using traditional techniques and materials to reproduce classic objects, but also creating unique and contemporary objects. Throughout its existence, several artists created models of frames or margins, such as António Carneiro, Henrique Medina and Fernando Lanhas. The awards include the Bronze Medal at the 1900 Paris Universal Exposition and the Gold Medal at the Portuguese Industrial Exhibition in 1933.
