Since the year of its inauguration in 1964, Café Moreira has been a reference and meeting place for generations. It promotes a series of gatherings and social tables with friends and intellectuals from various areas, from politicians to magistrates, lawyers, engineers, architects, doctors and even artists and musicians. It was there that the poet Eugénio de Andrade used to have lunch. Among the products sold, homemade muffins, made by Maria Lúcia for over 40 years, are the main attraction of this space. It is a reference establishment in the city of Porto, taking a special interest in its history, articulating the heritage of tradition with the winds of the new times.

Aromas & Tradition opened in 2020, merging the best of two worlds, the regional and the gourmet. In this sense, the establishment has a shop area for the sale of regional products, such as alheiras (a typical Portuguese sausage whose main ingredients may be poultry meat, bread, olive oil, lard, garlic and paprika), smoked products, wines, cheeses, honey, chocolates, among others, handicraft items, Paupério biscuits, Mirandela bread, ‘Leite de burra’ soaps, and a cafeteria area, where its customers can taste all its products. The phrase that defines Aromas & Tradição is the following: “It is born of a passion. A passion for what is traditional and homemade. A space that we want to share with everyone. To be, to socialise and to taste our products. Feel the aroma and let yourself be carried away by tradition”.

The mythical Café Corcel, born in 1967 in the Pinheiro Manso area, has recently reopened with a new life. The space is more beautiful and luminous, modernised, but containing some traditional touches, and its shop window reflects this, where we find an exhibition with a lot of conventual sweets. This is the star of this space, the confectionery, and we are not talking about the conventional cakes, known to all pastries in Porto, but rather about conventual confectionery: egg chestnuts, egg cones, almond delights, Tentúgal pastries. There are also homemade pizzas, salads and carpaccios, if you want a light meal and a DJ at the weekend, to enjoy while drinking a cocktail.

Passers by Rittos Taberna immediately realize that they are facing a genuine establishment from which they can bring a story to tell. Inside you will find a simple place made for people looking for simple flavors. Rittos Taberna, as its name implies, has to have a tavern ritual, that is, it is an appetizing place to snack, with cheese or cold meat, accompanied by a good drink, to enjoy in the evening. This establishment also has daily, affordable menus with soups, meat and fish options, francesinha, burgers and hotdogs or, on request, cabidela rice.
