The concept of Óbio is simple: healthy food prepared with love. It combines cafeteria and grocery store with only organic items. Most of the products that come to the table are on sale in space, so if you like something you ate you know you can replicate it at home. Óbio offers fresh dishes with organic products on the main menu, fresh salads, organic bruschetta and brunch, fresh juices, tea and coffee, all organic. The whole space is a makeup of an original building, since the birth of the place, which combines with the historical spirit of the city of Porto. Socalcos Vinhos & Gourmet emerged in a rehabilitated building, next to the former Ferreira Borges Market, being the modern version of the Infante Cabaz Wine Cellar. This is owned by Mr. Manuel Pinto, Socalcos is owned by Bruno Pinto, the son who follows the knowledge of the family. Large and clean, Socalcos’ proposal is to provide a pleasant space for tourists and locals to make their choice comfortably between the various brands of Port and table wines, including a range of so-called “superior” wines. To add to the careful selection of wines, we can find a set of gourmet products, such as cheese and composites, that complement the taste of the most demanding.

Café Ambrizete home appeared in the 70s and can be said to be part of a range of the oldest houses in the area. The name ‘Ambrizete’ derives from the time of the returnees, the people who returned from the old Portuguese overseas provinces, being the name of an Angolan city at the time. At the beginning, with the theme of a tea room, the space contained sofas for the comfort of its clients and paintings on the walls with the theme ‘Angola’. Of these paintings it is still possible to see part of them under the false ceiling, as well as a stained glass window that is part of the origins of the house. Nowadays, the highlight goes to the games of Santa Casa, to its billiards, to the space outside and to its soup, which never disappoints its clients.

At Paolo’s Pizzeria you can enjoy an extensive pizza menu, with garlic bread and drink, or the option of a pizza roll. But you will be making a mistake if you think that Paolo’s only has pizzas. The diversity of starters impresses, from the traditional olives, through the sausage or cheese boards, to the house specialty, a steak puff pastry, accompanied with fried potatoes. There is a panoply of salads and pasta dishes, but the menu of traditional Portuguese dishes is also a great bet, as well as the unavoidable Francesinha (a sandwich from the city of Porto, consisting of sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef steak, covered with cheese later melted; it is garnished with a tomato, beer and piri-piri sauce and can be served with French fries as a side dish) and some snacks. As a cherry on top of the cake, there is also a dessert menu for all tastes and shapes.
