Officially founded in 1959, Café Santiago will have opened its doors long before, in the 1930s, as a pasture and tavern house. In 1978, Mr. Fernando Pereira and D. Isabel Ferreira, current owners, began their connection to Café Santiago by exploring the tobacco shop that existed there. Francesinha Santiago has always been the main reference, having emerged as a result of the development and improvement of the typical Francesinha do Porto. Carefully selected ingredients, unique 100% handcrafted cooking processes and the well-known special sauce, whose recipe is a closely guarded family secret, give Francesinha Santiago the reference status in Porto.

The mythical Café Corcel, born in 1967 in the Pinheiro Manso area, has recently reopened with a new life. The space is more beautiful and luminous, modernised, but containing some traditional touches, and its shop window reflects this, where we find an exhibition with a lot of conventual sweets. Pimm’s is a café and restaurant with a warm and modern atmosphere, but one that does not neglect the tradition. The cuisine is typically Portuguese for lunch. At dinner the cuisine is of a more international nature, with a good offer of Italian cuisine, including a wide variety of pastas. During the day it is possible to enjoy a good wine or beer with the accompaniment of some Portuguese snacks, such as toasts on Pão Saloio or ham sandwiches. The terrace, with awning and overlooking the Igreja de São Francisco, is one of the strong points of this space.
