This restaurant was born in 1905, as Casa de Pasto, changing its name later in the 60's to Solar Moinho de Vento. According to some testimonials and writings of the time, it was with this name that Portuguesa fado diva, Amália Rodrigues, acted in this space. Renovated in 2002, this centenary restaurant is renowned for its traditional Portuguese food and its award-winning wine list. In our menu we highlight Ribs Rice with vegetables, Octopus Rice and “Pica no Chão” (traditional chicken rice), among several other options. In addition to top quality dishes, Solar Moinho de Vento offers a warm atmosphere and a caring and friendly service.

Café Ancora D´Ouro has long been affectionately called “Café Piolho”. In fact, no one knows the reason for such a designation, but the theories are many. One of them is that the cafe was frequented by the students of the university, but the teachers also went there and the coexistence was somewhat ceremonious. Then someone started to say that this was a “foolishness”. Opened since 1909, the café is a meeting point for students; it was a mandatory stop for poets, politicians, activists, among others. It is a cafe that is part of Porto’s history, where you can have a drink, snack and dine, even after hours. Try the francesinha or sarrabulho porridge, from a varied offer.

In this welcoming, friendly space, with a modern and sober decoration, it is a place of refuge for gluttons or confectioners’ lovers, who will not be able to resist the homemade cakes made here, ‘brigadeiros’ (The ingredients of the ‘brigadeiro’ are condensed milk, powdered chocolate, butter or margarine and granulated chocolate for the coverage), chocolate cake, carrot and orange pie, cream pastry, éclairs, tangerine cake, just to mention a few. Colher D’Açúcar is much more than a confectionery space, since you can have a meal or take a break for a snack, with a varied offer, such as homemade hamburgers, baguettes with tuna paste, with sea delights, with fresh cheese, among others, hotdogs, sandwiches, snacks, toasts, natural juices and other refreshing or cosy drinks.

Renovated in 2017, Café Cifrão offers a space with a simple, warm and familiar decor, with a recognized friendly staff. Here you can snack, have a drink, have a complete meal and socialize on the terrace, an ideal space to share a moment with friends. As it should be, Café Cifrão serves francesinhas (for some, one of the best) but also sandwiches, “pregos no prato” (steak), omelets, hotdogs, hamburgers, “alheiras”, special mixed sandwiches, among others. It also serves breakfast, as well as affordable lunch menus. It has an extensive list of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and even offers its customers wifi.
